Art Deco-inspired illustrations for a short story called "King Kadish" (something I put together based on a plot line form the PC adventure game Uru: Ages Beyond Myst).
The story is simple: it's about a king with an enormous wealth who is afraid that his enemies would take his treasures after his death. He orders a secret underground vault to be constructed to hide his gold and riches and he eventually seals himself with the treasure because he can't live far from it. The king dies all alone, reigning only over his treasure.
